ACKS Kickstarter promising project

For a while now I have been backing a kickstarter project for a RPG system called ACKS–Adventurer Conquerer King System. It is the first OD&D-type rules system I have seen in a while that offers a lot more than the average restructuring of old school references. Similar to Labyrinth Lord, the system mechanics are being continually refined and modified in a way I haven’t seen done before. All backers of the project at a certain level join the forums where they can comment on the latest version of the rulebook and discuss issues pertinent to the game.

I am enjoying the process, which feels like a kind of peer review with which other old school gamers such as myself chime in and make notes, not just of an editorial nature but of a creative one. I am looking forward to the release date of the game, mostly because it looks like I will be able to play in a Google + campaign. I’m having so much fun with the whole thing that I upped my pledge. I hope the book does well for this team. Visit Autarch.co for more information.
